Education is the foundation and pathway to personal, professional, community, and global success. Education, at its best, is intended to be an organic, 2-way dialog yet it has too often been 1-way—teacher to student—making true personalization untenable in a crowded classroom. We’ve built dozens of assessment frameworks, automated essay evaluation tools, classroom simulators, and stunning rubrics. But what’s meaningful to us about our body of work is showing progress toward goals; allowing standards to become what they were intended to be—an accountability framework, not a method for student learning. This is important to us because a healthy democracy is developed and maintained through an effective, meaningful public education system.
